Frequently asked questions
LTP (Loser To Pay) is India's hyperlocal sports challenge and social platform. Here is how it works, what it costs, and what it is not.
About LTP
What is LTP?
LTP (Loser To Pay) is India's hyperlocal sports challenge and social platform. You find players near you, challenge them, climb an ELO-based ranking, and build a name in your area.
It also lets you follow live scores, book turfs and buy tickets to local events, all in one app.
What does "Loser To Pay" mean?
It is the spirit of a friendly local match: the losing side settles a small, optional forfeit between themselves, offline, such as buying chai.
The name is about pride and rivalry. No money is ever staked on a result through LTP. The exact rules are in the Terms.
Is LTP free to use?
Yes. LTP is free to play, and you must be 18 or older.
You pay only if you choose to book a turf or buy an event ticket. LTP+ is an optional membership that never affects match results or ratings.
Which sports can I play on LTP?
Football, Cricket, Basketball, Badminton, Tennis, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, Boxing, Taekwondo and Pickleball.
More sports are added as the community grows.
How does LTP make money?
LTP takes a commission from venues and organisers on bookings and ticket sales, and charges players a convenience fee where one applies. Any fee is shown before you pay.
LTP+ is an optional membership. LTP does not sell your personal data and does not show third-party ads.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. LTP is strictly for people aged 18 and over. We check your date of birth when you sign up.
Playing and ranking
How does a challenge work?
Pick your sport, court and time, and post a challenge. A player near you accepts, you play the match in real life, and you both confirm the result in the app.
Open challenges are shown to nearby players, nearest first.
How does the ELO rating work?
Every ranked match moves your ELO rating. Beat a higher-rated player and you gain more; lose to a lower-rated one and you lose more.
Your rating, tier, win-loss record and head-to-head history sit on your player card.
What are the tiers?
Your rating places you in a tier: Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and The Summit.
Your tier travels with you to every court in your city.
How is a result confirmed, and what if we disagree?
Both sides report the result in the app, and it counts once they agree. In a team match the captains confirm it.
If the two reports differ, the result is flagged as a dispute and may not count toward ratings until it is settled. False or bad-faith reporting lowers your reliability score and can lead to suspension.
Can a match end in a draw?
Yes, in football, cricket, chess, kabaddi and boxing. A draw is recorded as a draw, not as a loss for either side.
Each rating still adjusts a little, in favour of the lower-rated player.
How do teams work?
Create a team with a name and a crest, recruit players, and pick a main team that shows on your profile.
You can also search for teams near you, filter by sport and ask to join. Captains see your player card before they answer.
What is LTP+?
LTP+ is an optional membership for players who take the ladder seriously. It includes a verified badge, who viewed you, challenge boosts, a custom banner, a monthly report and bigger events.
It never affects match outcomes or ratings. Billing follows the app store's rules once paid billing launches.
Live scoring
How does live scoring work?
One player scores the match on a phone at the ground, and the score is worked out on our servers from what they record. Everyone else follows it live, ball by ball or goal by goal.
The scorer can undo the last ball and hand the phone to someone else. Ending the match proposes a result, and the other captain then confirms it.
Which sports have live scoring?
Cricket and football.
Cricket covers runs, wickets, extras and overs, with a full scorecard. Football covers goals, cards and the match clock.
Can people follow a match without the app?
Yes. The scorer can share a link that opens in any browser, and anyone with it can follow the score, the scorecard and the ball-by-ball feed.
Watchers do not need an account.
Who can see my match, and can I turn the link off?
A match link is off by default. The scorer turns it on, and can turn it off at any time, which stops links already shared from working.
Anyone with an active link can see the names on the scorecard. If you are named and want it off, ask the scorer or write to support.
Booking a turf
How do I book a turf?
Open a venue, pick a date and how long you want, choose a start time, then choose a free court and pay. The booking confirms as soon as payment succeeds.
You see each court's surface, size and price before you commit, and you get a confirmation in the app.
Do I pay the whole amount when I book?
That depends on the venue. Each venue decides how much is paid in the app: all of it, part of it, or none, with the rest paid at the venue.
The amount due now is shown before you pay.
Can I split a booking with my team?
Yes. When a booking is split among players, each person pays only their share, and the app shows who has paid.
You can also book a turf while posting a challenge.
Can I cancel a booking and get a refund?
Yes. Each venue sets its own cancellation windows, shown before you pay. When you cancel, the app shows the exact amount you will get back before you confirm.
If the venue cancels, you get a full refund. See the refund policy.
Events and tickets
How do I join or host an event?
Open Events, pick one near you, and tap to join, or buy a ticket if it has one. To host, pick a venue on the map, set the time, add a banner and publish.
Businesses can also run ticketed events and tournaments from the business console.
Are events free, or do I need a ticket?
Both exist. Many events are free to join. Organisers can also sell tickets in more than one type, with a seat limit on each.
The price, taxes and the organiser's refund terms are shown before you pay.
How do tournaments and team entry work?
Tournaments can take squads, not just individuals. A captain enters the team and pays the entry, and the organiser sees the whole roster.
The captain can edit the squad afterwards.
How does my ticket get me in?
Every ticket has its own QR code in the app. The organiser scans it at the gate from a phone, and a ticket can be used only once.
Keep it private: whoever shows the code can be admitted.
Money, safety and privacy
Is LTP a betting or real-money gaming app?
No. LTP is not betting, wagering, gambling or real-money gaming, and nothing is ever staked on the result of a match through LTP. What you play for is rank, record and reputation.
Forfeits are social dares settled offline. LTP does not run, fund or pay out prize money.
What are forfeits?
A forfeit is a small, optional social gesture the losing side agrees to settle offline, such as buying chai, doing pushups or running a lap. LTP does not track, hold or enforce it.
Forfeits of cash, or of anything of real value, are prohibited.
What do I actually pay for on LTP, and how do refunds work?
Only two things: turf bookings, and event tickets or entry fees. Payments are made in the app through Razorpay, and you see the price, taxes and any convenience fee before you pay.
You get a full refund if the venue or organiser cancels, an event does not take place, or a payment problem leaves you charged without a booking. Refunds start within 5 working days and reach your bank a few days later. Details are in the refund and cancellation policy.
Is it safe to meet other players?
LTP is for adults only, and every player can block and report others. Sport carries risk, so meet in public places, check the venue, and bring your own equipment and insurance.
You choose your opponents and venues, and LTP does not supervise matches. Read the Terms for the details.
Who can see my personal information?
Other players see your profile: name, photo, city, sports, rating, record and reviews you wrote. Your email, phone number, date of birth and exact location are never shown to other players.
A venue or organiser sees the details of people who book or buy from it. The Privacy Policy lists everything we collect and why.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile, Settings, Delete Account. Deletion is immediate: you cannot sign in again and your profile is anonymised. You can also use the account deletion page.
Matches you played are kept with you shown as Deleted player, and some records are kept as the law requires.
Venues, organisers and the app
How do I list my turf or host events as a business?
Open the business console, sign in, and verify your business. Then add your venue, courts, hours and prices, or publish events and tickets.
Verification uses your PAN and one government photo ID. Read the Business Terms first.
What does LTP charge venues and organisers?
LTP takes a commission on bookings and ticket sales. The current rates and payout timing are shown in your business console, and any change comes with at least 30 days' notice.
Players' payments go through Razorpay, which sends your share to your linked account.
Is LTP on Android and iOS?
LTP is launching on Android first, with iOS planned later. Join the waitlist to be first in line.
